OK, what was the DEAL with that crying little girl? At first it was cute, but then she kinda freaked me out! Or do you think she was a plant for the whole British Invasion theme thing?
But overall, I thought it was a pretty decent night.
HALEY ("Tell Him")
I cracked up when she said she didn't want to be sweet and sang a total bubble gum pop song. But I guess she did it with jiggly boobs - so that was the "not sweet" part. She was OK, I guess, but she still bugs the ever living crap out of me.
CHRIS RICHARDSON ("Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying")
I was so proud of him for doing something different and especially for controlling his vibrato for once. He still is not the best male singer, but I liked him.
STEPHANIE ("You Don't Have To Say You Love Me")
Another song I love love love that has been over-Idolized. She did OK but not stellar... and is in trouble, I think.
BLAKE ("Time Of The Season")
God. This song soooo reminds me of high school. There was that 60's music revival with The Big Chill and Stand By Me and their soundtracks, and then this was on those songs me and my friends latched on to. And totally yes, if Blake released it the way he sang it tonight, it would be a hit again. And I loved that it showed he can really sing for once instead of covering up with glitz. Plus Ryan dancing and beatboxing? It don't get no better than that.
LAKISKA ("Diamonds Are Forever")
I thought she did well and Simon was a bit harsh with the 50 years comment, but I do wish she would have sung the other song. I think Lulu was right. But it's certainly not like she bombed.
PHIL ("Tobacco Road")
The fact that I hate that song may be influencing me, but I was not impressed. And what's the deal with the pinky-up singing? But, according to Dial Idol, America is protecting him and he is safe this week.
JORDIN ("I Who Have Nothing")
Big, grown-up song again for little Jordin. And she kicked ass. It was a bit depressing and she better go younger next week - but I thought she was amazing again this week.
SANJAYA ("You Really Got Me")
OK, maybe I was wrong. Maybe this kid is not gay. Because that was damn sexy. Not to say that gay men are not sexy. Oh, whatever. You get my point. The kid totally came out of his shell tonight. As for his singing - well, it still pretty much sucked but I have to say I loved him. I won't even be mad when he sticks around for another week.
GINA ("Paint It Black")
Good song choice for her, but I was fairly bored. She didn't kick it like I would have hoped.
CHRIS SLIGH ("She's Not There")
I was bored with him too. Walking through the crowd is always awkward. And if he starts saying "Fro Patro" every week, I am going to shoot myself in the face.
MELINDA ("As Long As He Needs Me")
Finally! Someone listened to me and fixed her damn hair! Loved it! And not just because they made it look almost exactly like mine. As for her singing? SHE. IS. FREAKING. AWESOME.
Who do I wish will go home? Haley.
Who do I think will go home? Stephanie.
And you?

Haley - Simon was dead on right with her - who could listen to her singing with all attention being diverted by her very bouncy breasts. I don't normally notice, but damn.
Chris R. - weak, he made a great song completely boring.
Stephanie - I didn't think she was as bad as the judges made her out to be. But then again, I like the nightclub vibe.
Blake - I hated his outfit. Okay performance, but it didn't wow me. The modernizing was kind of cute but it was good that it didn't destroy the song.
Lakisha - It wasn't my favorite song choice, but I think she did a good job with it. I think she was better last week. Simon was overly mean.
Phil - I don't really like him, but I think this was one of his better songs.
Ryan = where in the hell did he get that tie. Hated it.
Jordin - I think she a great job with the song, even though it's not my favorite choice for a sing (too much screaming).
Sanjaya - What the hell. The dude has got to go. I wanted to join that girl in the audience who cried, but I'm afraid she was crying for all the wrong reasons. I can't believe the judges gave him encouragement.
Gina - oh, that was bad.Painful.I suppose the outfit went with the song, but I didn't like it either. Ick.
Chris S. - I think he did a good job. I don't think it was his best song, but he was fine.
Melinda - she was great.
As for who should go - Sanjaya or Gina.
J, I am loving you getting all into this!!! Rock on!!!
Hello,
I just found your site the other day and am enjoying your A.I. updates! I've only blogged about Idol once, during the early auditions.
I guess I'm not compelled to do a complete write-up myself, but I'll certainly comment on yours!
I've had it out for Haley since her first top-24 performance, when she sounded like a Disney princess. I didn't think she should have made it this far, but she has grown on me. She'll probably stick around due to the sex-kitten outfit.
Sanjaya did much better this week, but was it enough? I think he's the weakest singer (or, at least what he's shown us doesn't stand up to the others). He doesn't seem to put the kind of emotion into it that really wins the crowd over.
And yes, that crying girl was creepy.
I guess those are my least-favorite out of the group.
I was kind of bummed that they didn't have that Fantasy Idol contest this year where you picked the order in which they went home ... though, I haven't really got the rest of these kids figured out yet!
I can't believe sanjaya rocked out!~
The best part of the show - the best part of ANY AI SHOW TO DATE - was Ryan trying to dance. Sweet Jesus that was funny!
Stephanie! :(((
I am sad I pegged it!
While I feel Stephanie wouldn't have won it, there are definitely people I thought would be home before her. Namely Sanjaya and Haley, but she probably should have at least beaten both Chrises and Phil, too.
It's all about showmanship at this point. People can get away with not-so-great singing if they have a good stage presence ... also helps if their songs aren't boring!
Yeah, Stephanie should have beaten Haley, Sanjaya and Phil at least, for sure. :(
