When I picked up Declan today I discovered it had been Picture Day at school. And he was wearing the very new, but very casual Chicago t-shirt I bought for him this weekend. The one with the huge C-H-I-C-A-G-O letters emblazoned across his chest.
Thank god the camera won't show the ratty sweatpants he had on as well.
My mother is going to be so thrilled.
UPDATE: I probed him some more, and it was *not* individual photos, but that one they do of the whole class together. So we will get to see his ratty sweatpants. Joy.

I remember when Karrie decided to change her nice outfit on individual picture day to a t-shirt saying "Kiss Me - I'm German."
At least they'll be small ratty sweatpants! (P.S. shouldn't they be warning you about picture days, group or otherwise?)
My daughter wears a uniform so her group picture was fine but her individual picture, while cute, was waaaay off center. Lifetouch Inc. really needs to have a policy on drunk photographers...
They warned us... like a WEEK AGO. I need immediate warning!
LMAO - I like the Kiss Me, I'm German t-shirt!
Now you will have a story that goes with the picture, though.
We forgot about class picture day too, and so did another kid on Em's soccer team. There must have been subliminal messages with the announcement!
ITA that Lifetouch is not great at what they do.
They did send a message last week but I was too busy worrying about whether I would make it to Chicago or not and forgot to put it on the calendar. Usually we get last minute notices the night before, dammit!
And when I thought it was the individual shots I wasn't too worried because they are always on some stupid background and cropped poorly, so it's not like I would actually want to buy any anyway!!!... but I *will* want to buy the one of his whole class!
He did tell me he was in the middle row, so maybe his clothing was blocked some???
And P.S. I do remember that Kiss Me I'm German photo. That was AWESOME.
It can't be as bad as the time my little brother thought he should cut his own bangs (night before picture day)and basically cut a huge square in his forehead. He looked like a Jack-O-Lantern. Mom sent him to school that day and it is forever embossed in our family album.
oh man, that is FUNNY.
