Eyes are the Window to the Soul

Here is a completely unedited photo of Emerson, using my Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens. This lens can give incredibly small depth of field, which sometimes makes it hard to use... but then it gives me great blurry backgrounds and wonderfully sharp eyes.

Or one sharp eye, in this case. Click photo to see it larger.

Can you see us trying to make Emerson laugh? And Bryan? In the red shirt?

Wow! That is an AMAZING picture! I got to get us a new camera. Ours would never do that.

Gorgeous! That's incredibly narrow focus for the eye closest to be blurred while other eye is so sharp = awesome! I love blurred soft backgrounds:)

Heidi, that's why the lens is so hard to use sometimes! Actually getting the right thing in focus whiles kids are squirming is tough! ;)

Thanks all!

The close up is unbelievable. I want so badly to take good pictures. What camera would you recommend for a wannabe photog who is willing to spend a few bucks?

Wicked cool Aimee. I can imagine that it can be a bear to use. My f1.8 50mm is a bit more forgiving. :)
