CD Winners + NaBlah

OK, first, obviously it is clear I need to fix my archive/lack of search issue really fast. Because it took all afternoon to get the answer to #2.

1. First, a freebie since we are all probably a little sluggish this morning: What was the last concert I attended?
~~ Easy peasy. Maroon 5. One CD to Mayberry Mom for being able to scroll down.

2. What was the first concert I ever attended?
~~ This one stumped everyone. I had to give major hints, because no one remembered, or could spend the whole afternoon reading my archives to find this post. One CD to James for being able to Google Daryl Hall.

3. And lastly, name any band who I have seen 3 or more times in concert.
~~ Jessica delurked to answer Crowded House, a very correct answer. Other correct answers: Depeche Mode, Howard Jones, U2, Live, Toad The Wet Sprocket, INXS, Shawn Colvin, and John Mayer.

So, WOO HOO! - WINNERS PLEASE SEND ME YOUR SNAIL MAIL ADDRESSES! aimee at greeblemonkey dot com. Except for James, who works down the hall from me, so that would just be silly.

=================

NOW! What is this NaBloPoMo thing you are seeing all over the web? (Sidenote: I call it NaBlah because it is completely unpronounceable in every day conversation. Feel free to take that and use it in your own lives, I haven't copyrighted it - yet). But basically it's a piggy back on to National Novel Writing Month, and a way to encourage writing blog posts every day during the month of November. Except I do that already. Sometimes more than one as evidenced today. So, how about I try and write BETTER posts in November?

But I ain't promising anything, people. Because let's face it - sometimes I suck.

In that spirit though, BoogieMum suggested something really cool. Or maybe a way for bloggers who don't have verbal diarrhea like I do to come up with things to say every day all month long: Thirty Days of Thanks. Where you post a short blurb of things you are thankful for.

I seriously love this - since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (it's true, Halloween is actually #2 on my list)... so you will see little postscripts on all my posts this month giving thanks for things big and small in my life.

My first one is a no brainer:

Bryan and Declan.

Wow, your blog buddies must all be WAY younger than me. My first rock concert was Peter Frampton in 1978 -- were y'all even born then? And there are a few bands I've seen more than 3 times (due to my advanced age, of course) but I've seen Bruce Springsteen (yes, I am very old) around 20 times. And darn proud of it! Last concert = HANNAH MONTANA in Denver last week! Very exciting to take my daughters to THEIR first concert.

Rachel, I am 37, so I was 8 in 1978. Possibly old enough if my mom had ever even heard who Peter Frampton was.

And y'all, definitely kudos to BoogieMum for the 30 Thanks idea. Bring it! And join the group on Ning!

I found you on the Colorado group on NaBloPoMo. I have a theme already but I can easily incorporate thanks into it. So, Thanks! And I am Amy mom in Denver too.

Do you say it Nah-blo-po-mo? Because I prefer Nab-lop-omo. Though by day 10, I'm gonna be on board with NaBlah.

I think I may also include thankful things in my posts as well!

My first concert was the Beastie Boys & Run DMC in 1987. I think I was 11 years old. I went with my older sister. I had a crush on them.

and HOly CRAP! you met Bono & Edge?

I wish that I had seen more acts in concert. Your list of three timers is impressive! I'm terrible at getting to live music. Maybe one day.
