Thoughts for Heidi

My Aunt Heidi (yes, accordion Aunt Heidi) is in the hospital with a sudden, grave illness. I feel like a tornado has hit my family and I am completely impotent here, halfway across the country, to do anything about it.

Aunt Heidi is like my second mother and best friend all wrapped into one. I can't lose her. I just can't.

Please send all your positive thoughts to the east coast for me. There is a wonderful lady there who needs them right now.

==================

UPDATE: I talked to her! I talked to her! She is off the ventilator and does sound a bit drunk, but we talked for a good 5 minutes and she is completely responsive and present. The doctors say she is not out of the woods, but things have stabilized and she is doing quite well. They still have not determined exactly what happened as yet, but they believe she is suffering an attack from an anaerobic organism that she got on a complete fluke. What IS IT with my family and the superbugs??? (I say that now that I can laugh and smile, since: I talked to her! I talked to her!)

Thank you for all your kind comments, twitters, texts and emails.

UPDATE of the UPDATE: Sorry this post went down yesterday. We were having server issues on Saturday.

Oh, you got it! Internet vibrations have been working for my dad through his bypass surgery so I will gladly pay them forward for your aunt Heidi. Accordion players need to stick together!

Thank you all! She was thankful for your kind thoughts today too.

She is having a 3rd surgery, they thought it was going to be tonight but it got bumped to the morning. She will probably have to have 1-2 more after that to remove the damaged skin from the bacteria. But she is in good spirits. We are thinking that I will go back to Maryland as she is released from the hospital to help my mom and sister with her care. (I was almost on a plane this weekend).
