In general, the girls were OK, but weaker than the guys. They better be careful when everyone gets combined or all the females are gonna get picked off like flies.

ASIA'H EPPERSON
"I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
I actually kind of dug it. It was fun and upbeat, which has been severely missing in these two 80's nights. I mean, HELLO, the 80's were FUN! Let's have some fun! I still really like the throaty tone in her voice too. Cute girl.

KADY MALLOY
"Who Wants To Live Forever"
More like, who wants to listen to that crap??? Were the judges too busy tickling each other and forgot to listen to her singing? Because I thought she was ridiculously horrible. It was the Luke Menard moment of the night and she is sooo going home. She did it to herself by not listening to any of the advice about showing a more fun side, which as I mentioned above is slightly easy to do with 80's songs. So she picks that horrid song, and butchers it to boot. I was literally wincing.

AMANDA OVERMYER
"I Hate Myself For Loving You"
Thank you ruler of the almighty hairspray and mousse, she looks soo soo soo much better this week. Like an actual real person instead of a cartoon character. And she picked the perfect song for her and performed it well. I say performed it well, because I still am not sure it showed off a really strong voice, but it definitely was a overall good job on her part.

CARLY SMITHSON
"I Drive All Night"
I usually agree with him the most, but Simon was wrong, wrong, wrong about this one tonight. That song was perfect for her voice. And she is a dependable ole dawg. She sings well every week, but somehow I am still neither here nor there about her.

KRISTY LEE COOK
"Faithfully"
Within the first two notes, I couldn't wait for Randy's Journey reference. And I too wasn't sure she would pull off singing Steve Perry. But I did like the country twang to the song (huuuuge stretch for me to say that). She probably saved herself this week. And thankfully, with a slow song, we were spared the butt-squat dance move.

RAMIELE MALUBAY
"Against All Odds"
Eh. It was OK. This is one of my more favorite Phil Collins songs, so that's in her favor in my book, and she did bring some interesting things to it, but I most definitely agree with the judges that she just feels calculated. I want to see her walk out and SING her heart out. Let it free, little Ramiele. You are cute as a button and I'd love to see you nail a performance before it's too late.

BROOKE WHITE
"Love Is A Battlefield"
Way to change up a song, girl. Like David Cook last night, I love how the song was so different from the original and so true to the singer performing it. It really showed off her voice. And I liked it nice and simple the way she did it. Good job, Brooke. On a semi-related note, I heard the Pat Benetar song from Legend of Billie Jean on the way in to work today and it make me ridiculously happy.

SYESHA MERCADO
"Saving All My Love For You"
There were a few sections that kind of hurt my ears but in general, she took a hard song and sang it pretty well. She may be in trouble because she rubs people the wrong way and/or has really made no impression at all - which, for me, she is hovering between the two.

And Syesha, or maybe Kristy Lee.
And you?

P.S. Sorry this is a little late tonight. I sat and watched the end of my tape from last night which had that new show Amsterdam-whats-his-butt. Holy cats, that dude is hot.
P.P.S. Screen caps borrowed from Rickey!

Yeah, what was up with the judges tonight? Kady and Kristy are so going home. They BETTER go home. But I agree that Syesha and her "I'm really an actress" thing might be enough to do her in. LOVED Brooke for the same reason as you. Great twist on an already great song (and yeah, just like David Cook last night).
I'm impressed that you get the post up as quickly as you do - and with photos! I'm in agreement: the girls are generally less impressive than the the guys. I'm thinking Kady's gone too. Not sure about who else.
totally agree with everything. blah night.
I'm kind of down on the Indiana girl. I mean, come on, girl. SMILE. She seems so angry or something. What is up with that? I'm all for getting behind the fellow Hoosier, but dang, represent! Smile!
The Journey song was horrendous! Made me want to cry.
I do like Carly - I think her tattoo also makes her that much more cool. I know, I'm a nerd.
What was with Paula and Simon all over each other. I think Paula is doing drugs again.
I know I need to watch the singers but Paula - she's like watching a car wreck. I. MUST. LOOK!
Can we talk about how most of the girls outfits were butt ugly?
Kady, ugh, I want her to go. I wouldn't mind if Syesha left too because the girl BUGS.
I really liked Brooke's rendition and thought Amanda was great (and looked so much better). Carly is good but she doesn't inspire me to root for her for some reason. And it's a stretch for me to say it but I rather enjoyed the country-ness of Kristy's song.
Kady is hopefully going home, so I don't have to look at that face any more. There's just something not right about it.
I'm over Amanda. Actually I was never under Amanda, but I've been stuck with her till now. Hopefully she'll join Kady. Otherwise...I dunno.
Kady is definitely gone this week.
Amanda still isn't showing much range, but her performance was much better. I imagine she has a bit of a following and will stick around.
Syesha is a good singer, but her performance felt kind of flat. Not much excitement.
Ramiele's performance wasn't great, but I kind of hope she stays around.
As for the girls I could really care less about Syesha, Ramiele, Kristy, and Kady. They all have good voices, they can sang but I just don't care either way.
I loved Carly singing "I Drove All Night". Simon was stuck on Celine Dion singing it...I wonder if he has ever heard Cyndi Lauper sing it?? Probably not!
I have to disagree with Amanda preforming well. I think her vocals were great but her performance was lacking. She needs to look at the camera. She keeps looking down at the crowd but avoids the camera. It looks weird and just isn't working for me.
I too loved the version Brooke did!! I wanted to get up and DANCE when Asia'h sang...but that song was a huge fave of mine back then!!I had made up my own lil dance choreography to it, and would dance around my house...talk about embarrassing!!
All I could think when Kady started singing was "Great - now, not only is she ruining Queen but Highlander too?" She has got to go. I am really sick of these kids with the attitudes (she and Danny rub me the wrong way the most) when the judges are trying to give them some helpful criticism. Do they really think that they are so good that everyone's going to bow down and adore them? Bleh!
Gah what was up with Paula?? I swear she was drunk or on drugs, I'd bet money on it!!!!!
