So, overall, a MUCH better night than last week. Although I have to say, in general, I *hate* the "embarrassment" stories, because, in general, they are absurd.

Although he could do with some of my favorite thing in the world Nasal Rinse and some Chapstick so he stops licking his lips. I'M JUST SAYING.

So. They put the two controversy boys back to back. Danny with his Fuck You Christmas MySpace video and David "Oh, Yeah, I Forgot To Tell You I Am A Gay Male Stripper" Hernandez (Thanks to Becky for the tip on that one). Which one will prevail, hmmm? Or will the PR help them both even if it is bad PR? Either way, SOMEONE needs to help Danny with his song choices because clearly he is abysmal at it. That kid can sing and he never chooses to show it. I will say I liked the arrangement of the song - but am I a traitor to my generation if I admit I have just never really cared for Tainted Love all that much?

Your biggest embarrassment is a pea-sized booger? How about the fact that the whole world just found out you are an ex-male stripper??? What sucks is this guy can seriously SANG. Yeah, he is kind of schmatzy, but I went ahead and texted a few votes in for him anyway - because he really *does* have a damn fine voice. And I personally think it's hilarious he picked a Celine Dion song.

Um, DUH, Randy. Simple Minds sang this song, soooo not INXS. The injustice! Also, Jesus Christ, did Michael Hutchence fake his death, been hiding out in the Outback, having plastic surgery all over his face, just so he could come back and appear on American Idol?? Because this guy is really starting to freak me out. Either way, he picked a great song for his voice and I enjoyed his performance. And he's HOT. Nuff said.

Um. OK. So, I thought it was nice and all, but I am really not sure what the judges were raving about. I felt like the song was way to big for him and he came off too smiley happy shiny in the middle of it. Dude. Leonard Cohen. Jeff Buckley. I mean, seriously. The Jeff Buckley version of that song is one of my favorite songs ever. It's about emotion and building of a storm and telling a story with your voice. I just did NOT think he pulled it off. At all. Oh, and he looked thoroughly stoned to boot.
CHIKEZIE
"All The (Wo)man I Need"
I liked it. Simple as that. His voice sounded nice, it was a good groove for him. Maybe nothing special, but that guy can sing and I think Simon was way too harsh on him. I mean, yes, the WO-man part was a bit forced, but otherwise... like I said... nice. And damn, his smile is scrumptious.

Luke is out for sure. Danny can sing, but 'Merica's voting here people and you just won't make it all the way to the heartland with that much flame in your swagger. I can sing the words to every song, but unless Duran Duran sang it I am nearly worthless with band names.
