American Idol: Top 7 (Part 2)

Yeah yeah, I do see the hypocrisy irony of saying chicks do much celeb banter AND ragging on celeb twitterites... and then proceeding full speed with Idol recaps... but... Um. Who cares? I love American Idol, you know I love American Idol, and I have been talking about American Idol for years. What's a little hypocrisy among friends?

And Randy is right. These kids are REALLY awesome. There is none among them I actively hate which is SO rare for this stage of the game. Which makes for a much less snarky recap. I hate that!

LIL ROUNDS - I'M EVERY WOMAN
Yes. Lil can sing. Karaoke. Lil can also play dress up. What was with the Donna Summer look-alike get-up? Oh my, Lil. You really are going home this time. The rest of these kids are amazing at defining themselves and you have NO IDEA who you are.

KRIS ALLEN - SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY
Kris is my new pretend boyfriend. Sorry Matt, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. To the kid who keeps changing up songs in really original ways and apparently wears ladies underpants. [Seriously, what WAS that?]

DANNY GOKEY - SEPTEMBER
I say this every Disco night, when some contestant pulls out this Earth, Wind & Fire song, but believe it or not, this is my "song" with my husband. So, while I agreed with Simon that the performance was a bit flat, Danny could do no wrong in my book tonight.

ALLISON IRAHETA - HOT STUFF
What was she WEARING? A CAR TIRE? Seriously. Allison. The stylists are completely fucking with you. Walk away from the rubber. Otherwise, yes, it was a little indulgent, but that's what you get from 70's-era Heart throwback singers WHO. ARE. AWESOME.

ADAM LAMBERT - IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU
I have made peace with the fact that Adam is going to win this year. I may not like the Lizard King, but I sure do respect him.

MATT GIRAUD - STAYIN' ALIVE
Matt Matt Matt. I am so sorry I am cheating on you with Kris. You did have a solid performance tonight. But you needed a homerun. A homerun into Canada as a matter of fact. Cause it will take some cheating Canadian voters to save your ass tonight.

ANOOP DESAI - DIM THE LIGHTS
That arrangement had me squirming in my seat. The beginning was nice, but the end was not fast enough to be fast nor slow enough to be slow. What it ended up being was some awkward dancing while we all admired the hot beard and pink vest. Still, [Matt, really, it pains me to say this, but] Anoop's voice is really strong so I hope he stays.

BOTTOM THREE?
Lil, Matt, Anoop.

With Lil and Matt going home. Sigh.

AND YOU?

P.S. Photos pulled from the ever-awesome Rickey.

I agree with about 98% of what you said here. You're right on about the bottom three and who's going home.

You know what's funny? I actually understood what Paula said about the Women's Department. Then again, I translate Preschooler-to-English all day. ;)

Not that Paula is a preschooler. But, you know what I mean. I'm always curious to hear what she's going to come up with next!

The whole women's department I *think* was meant as a comment on how Kris sings songs made famous by chicks whereas others don't tend to go there.

I didn't want to like Kris or Adam but damnit I do. I am still rooting for Alison to keep strong and end in the final three because I'd really like a girl in there. Plus, she's a powerful singer even if she did wear some sort of Cat Woman suit.

I just wish Matt could have been a bit more Justin Timberlake with his rendition- that would have been awesome.

I hope by now Danny has sponsorship from LensCrafters. How does he have so many eyeglasses!? They can't ALL be prescription. If so, I want his insurance.

I honestly have NO IDEA what's going on in this competition... the only one, IMHO, with actual songwriter and solo artist potential is Matt and he gets boo-ed by the judges every week.

It's sad.

So how exactly would a Canadian cheater go about this interesting cheating of which you speak?
