One of the things that was hard about leaving my company was leaving the people. My employees were top-notch at their jobs. I am just now realizing how much I leaned on them, and learned from them.
My Office Manager was super efficient, often having things ready for me before I even asked for them. When I would travel, a folder full of everything I needed magically appeared on my desk a few days before I left. An organizational miracle!
I knew I would be applying her techniques to my new life, and when the travel voucher arrived for the Evo Conference, I needed to share my Rainbow Packet (below). Because of course I took her idea and made it more sparkly. (And did you catch that? "My travel voucher from Evo"? Southwest is providing airfare for the speakers. Way. To. Go. Southwest!)
So, it's a simple principal really.
Go get a folder with pockets, in the size you like. The important part is committing to the idea, of course.

- Receipts (the seriously important section)
- Blog Cards
- Biz Cards (I made two separate sections here, for blog friends I meet and for contacts I need for the new business)
- Vendors

- My Biz (meaning I can store *my* cards here as well, to give out)
- Misc

we did a two week driving trip last summer (for fun), with only a few places that we stayed more than one night. so we did an accordion folder like that, but organized by hotels. as we went along, we dropped in flyers and cards and souvenir type things. it made a nice record of the trip.
I'm with Jenny! Organization is so pretty! Huge sigh! Wish it would find its way over to my house!
