I’m Aimee Giese and I am a business owner, graphic designer, web developer and photographer from Denver. My husband Bryan and I have one son, Declan, who is in second grade, loves to read, loves to draw, and did I mention, REALLY loves to read?

I am proud to call myself a mommy blogger, but in truth, I am probably more of a lifestyle blogger who talks about her kid a lot. Because photography, music, travel, social media, technology and liberal politics also play a huge role on my blog.

Hey, neat! I was a finalist for the 2008 Weblog Awards in the category of Best Kept Secret and I am featured on Alltop in both the Moms and Twitterati sections.

The Name
Both “Greeble” and “Monkey” were my son’s nicknames when he was in my belly. Monkey because he was constantly jumping up and down, and Greeble because my husband is insane. Seriously. He just made that word up. Well, he says he did, but come to find out, it’s actually a 3D animation term, and my husband is into that. NO it’s not my last name, NO it’s not a child’s toy – it’s just a silly name from some silly people.

My Photography
I started taking photo classes in high school. I came to a crossroads in college, and was forced to decide between graphic design and photography as a career. I chose graphic design, have loved it, but now pursue photography as a freelance gig and a serious hobby. Come see 'em all on Flickr and Etsy. Also check out my personal photo site.

Also related to this: I take a lot of photos. LOTS. Including photos of people I am with. If I ever post a photo of you on my blog or Flickr that you are uncomfortable with, please please please let me know and I will remove it. Otherwise, I’ll keep doing it because you are so incredibly cute.

Oh, and Mr. and Mrs. Internet? Don’t steal my photos. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

My Company
I co-own a health education research and web development firm in Denver named Klein Buendel. I know. This sounds weird. But it’s actually pretty cool. Basically, it means we build web sites that help people.

On The Side
I am a contributing editor for the Denver Post’s Mile High Mamas parenting blog as well as the former Denver city editor for Savvy Source. Both projects talk about local interests in and around Denver, letting me show off the city I love so well. I am also a new editor for Kirtsy. Meaning? I don't sleep.
